Questions about setup

I just recently started as a Sr Systems Engineer at new company that uses Dyanmics SL.  We are in the process of setting up a brand new environment as well as upgrading SL to the latest release.  I have no experience with Dynamics SL in the past and at at the mercy of the vendor to tell me how it should be setup.  Does anyone have any documents or sites you could point me to that could help me better understand how it works under the hood?  We are currently publishing the app via RDS 2012 R2 with a backend SQL cluster running "Always On".

    It's minimal. The GUI doesn't do very much beyond presenting the data. Everything else lives in the database. A 16 gig RDP server can easily handle 10 or 12 SL users, but obviously, you should adjust that with the others apps you publish.

    Thanks Butch, do you have any idea of the footprint of the application?  Memory size when it is running?

    Make sure you get access to CustomerSource. That has the knowledge base and other items of interest. Between that and the user guides/F1 help, you have everything you need to know at your fingertips.

    Since you are in the design phase of your environment, make sure you have plenty of bandwidth between the RDP server and the Database. SL opens at least one cursor for every screen the user opens so it can get busy pretty fast. SL does not like those connections to be interrupted ungracefully, so be careful of that too.
