Send Mail from Salesperson mail account

Hello,

is there any way to send mails directly from salesperson mail account instead of using smtp mail setup account?

I found it quite interesting when there is a function for searching mail addresses around the system but the system is always picking the smtp one if it's setup.

Suggested Solution:

- Setting up Mail Accounts for all users

- Make it possible to setup a general bcc

    Hi,

Are you using OnPrem release of MSDyn365BC or the SaaS release of D365BC?

    Thank you.

    Hi,

I tried it myself via my own salesperson in SaaS release of MSDyn365BC and with default app set to Mail app in Windows, it asks me to select one of my private accounts which will be confgured as the Sender. After changing to Outlook, it starts Outlook where I can compile the mail.

So do you have a repro where this does not work or different / or if my test is not OK enough, please provide some repro steps.

Hi, sorry I don't understand what you mean.

The default App for mailing is not relevant in my opinion as we work in SaaS only in WebClient. So there is also no possibility to open the mail in outlook like on the On-Premise Release.

    Example:

Open Purchase Orders - Click Send

The default sender for this mail is the mailbox configured in smtp setup in BC. The only way (so it seems from the code) is to do not configure the smtp settings that the systems picks the salesperson e-mail for sending. You can see this in the "from" field in the mail dialog. BUT .. and that's the problem. We are not able to send anything without having a configured smtp setting.

So there needs to be a trick to configure each individual user to allow sending with his own account.

    Hi,

Okay, so no clicking on E-mail address in Salespersons page. This was answered here:

    community.dynamics.com/.../email-setup-for-users

Hope it does answer the question.  This is the current design for OnPrem D365BC and SaaS release of MSDyn365BC releases when using simplified E-mail.

You can perhaps log this as a product suggestion / idea? To me this does look like a very valid request but I am not a decision maker in this area.

    Thank you.

So that means we have to wait or develop our own app for this.

    Thank you
