Queues & Email Processing

Posted on by 1,795

Hi,

If you have 2 Queues that are Shared Mailboxes, both set to receive all email. If you were to activate the second Queue 2 weeks after the first, would this start to process all email back 2 weeks? Because the email server profile is set to process email from the date the first Queue was activated?

If so, how do you get around this? When the second queue is activated, do you need to amend the date in the email server profile to bring it up to the current day?

    RE: Queues & Email Processing

    Hey Wayne,

Thanks a lot for very quick response. I tried changing the server profile to today's date and synchronized one of my CRM queue with exchange online mailbox.

But unfortunately that didnt work. I am still getting all the emails from previous dates. One interesting thing is almost 99.9% of these emails are automatic replies that my mailbox received. Is there any setting i am missing? Or how should i restrict all those past automatic email replies flowing into my CRM Queue.

    Thanks

Changing the sync date doesn't delete what's already come across, it just prevents Server Sync from looking back to get more.  Everything in your first queue will stay as is.

    Hi Wayne,

Thanks a lot for responding brother. It helps a lot to me as this issue was preventing us from going live.

    One Last question:

If i change the server profile to today's date then 2nd queue works fine and i get all the emails synchronized to crm from now on.

But what about first queue? Will i loose 2 weeks of email data in 1st queue as i changed the server profile synchronization date to today?

Two ways I can think of:

    1. Update the server profile to the current day.  You already have all the mail from the other queue, so there's no need to backdate the server profile.

    2. Delete all the old mail from the second shared mailbox.  If it's not actionable, there's no reason to keep it.

    Hello J M,

I am currently facing the same issue. Did you happen to find a solution for this?
