Direct Posting to a Totaling Account

Is it possible to include a totaling account on a journal entry? I have a totaling account that has direct posting enabled. The account will get values from it's subaccounts but also needs direct posting. These are non-subledger (inventory, receivables, payables, etc.) accounts. Example is a payroll expense, professional fees, etc. and there is a total account plus specifics. Looking to not have to add an /other/ account for posting purposes. Thanks.

Direct Posting to a Totaling Account

Hi, KasparsSemjonovs is right, and these Totaling Accounts cannot be searched when you select G/L Account.

Direct Posting to a Totaling Account

No, amounts can be posted only to Posting type of GL accounts.

All other types are just for organazing the structure of Your CoA.

If You need a for reporting issues less lines of GL accounts, You can create a Financial report (Previously Account Schedules) accordingly
