Internal errors for one user only in one legal entity, anyone seen this?

Hi everyone,

I’m troubleshooting an issue in our Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations environment where a single user is unable to open any modules in one specific legal entity. When she switches to our other legal entity, everything works normally.

The error appears immediately when she tries to open any module in the affected company.

 

“An internal error has occurred. Please contact your system administrator.”

Session ID: (changes each attempt)

Example timestamp: 2026‑01‑29T23:00:56.083Z

Version: 10.36.3198.18831 : 7.0.7690.99 : 7.0.25142.1


Additional details:

  • The issue happens only in one legal entity, not the other.
  • The affected user has the same security roles in both companies.
  • Other users with identical permissions can access both entities without issues.
  • I tested with a separate account using the same roles, and everything works fine.
  • I already cleared the user’s usage data, but the issue persists.
  • The problem has continued over multiple days and multiple session IDs.
  • Browser and device do not seem to affect it.

 

I suspect it doesn't relate to security roles but something else.

Any suggestions on additional user‑specific data to clear or other troubleshooting steps would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello, i suggest you to perform a trace, starting before chance the company, that stop after. if works.
     
    Using parser try to understand what happend. If there are a reference to any kind of problem or a point of start to analyze.
     
    Please check also if the user found on the invalid user list on system administration.

    Does it happen on all forms? Or just a specific one? Wild guess: could it possibly have to do with the initial page under user options? Could it be that some saved  query is corrupted? Give us a bit more specific information please.

    When you say "The affected user has the same security roles in both companies" I am assuming you are saying that the user is not restricted to only some organizations for one or more roles, right?

    As a last resort, you can try to delete and reimport the user from AAD if it does not have any scheduled batch with his/her name
