This seems unnecessary, and even undesirable.
There seems to be an assumption that the user entering a fee journal would want their resource associated with the fee transaction posting. In most cases from my experience, there is no desire to associate ANY resource with a fee journal posting. Is there a way to disable this default behavior?
Hi Josh,
The standard coding is assuming the resource will be defaulted on the project journal if the resource can be found based on the current user and if the worker is setup as resource in the current company. If there is no need to have the user setup as resource, you can delete the resource.
Otherwise, you can consider a customization for deleting the resource from the journal table and/or lines.
Thanks Andre - point taken. Why is the resource field population logic different for a project expense journal?
I can only share some thoughts on the current design. The Fee journals is using project journal table series where it shares the table with the hour journals. Project expense journals are based on ledger journal table series. This does not explain the why, but the ledger journals are not getting a project resource when creating the journal.
