Can't shade in Frx

Posted on by 170

I am using Frx 6.7 and I am trying to shade columns in a new report. I have tried formatting to add shading multiple times and the shading does not appear although the steps I am taking appear to work and there are no error or warning messages. I have read that you can not shade a column with an underlined heading, but there are not yet underlines in this report at all. We have also had shading issues in other reports where we've copied a shaded cell from one place to another but many other cells have become shaded along the way, cells that we did not choose. I have looked up the steps to shade online in multiple places and I am following them correctly. Anyone else having "shady issues" out there?

    Hi Annie,

As far as I know, you need to select both the column header and column detail separately to have the shading apply.

Once you have created the type of formatting you want - and have saved it. Highlight the cell or cells you want the formatting to apply to, and select the name from the format styles drop down box located above the column headers.

    Hope this helps, Clodagh

Hi - I have been through the font styles and chosen what I wanted and gave it a new name. I am doing this while on the cell that I wish to change the charecteristsics of. How exactly should I be "applying" the font/shading to the cell? I can't find any commands labelled as such, beyond "format font styles", "close".. Also, does this have to be done in the header, in the column detail, or doesn't it matter? Thanks!  Annie

    Hi Anne,

For adding shading, make sure you are re-naming the font type when you add the shading, as otherwise the option will not appear.

    Go to:

    Format

    Font Style

    Shading

Pick colour as desired - also add any other requirements (underline, bold etc)

    rename & save

Then just apply font as required.

I didn't have a problem underlining and shading together.

Hope this helps, perhaps you have tried this already.
