Hi there,

I am a little confuse with Product and Services Updates and Wave Releases are those the same or these apps have like MS Patch Tuesdays?

Few apps started showing to be updated and versions to be installed in the list of Dynamics 365 apps on Power Platform Center, is this cycle related to Wave Releases or for example every fortnight

Found this PDF,go.microsoft.com/.../, about the recent release and this blog about Product and Services Updates www.dynamicsfortnightfridays.com/.../

Could someone please clarify?

    Hey!

There are 3 things here that you need to be clear about.

    a) Dynamics 365 is an online platform. Therefore, it receives updates constantly (every weekend).  These are BugFixes & Performance improvements.  You can read more about them on your Admin.Microsoft.com portal, under "health > Message Center".  Typically, they're named "Dynamics 365 - Service Update [version] for [Region]"

    b) New features are usually released in 2 cycles (or waves): One intended between April and September (wave1) and another from October to march (Wave 2).    Most of the new features are released on a big event (wave deployment), that are typically held on April (wave1) and October (wave2).  However, some features might not be deployed on those dates but on later (but always within the release cycle).  For example, something scheduled for Wave 2, instead of being deployed on October, might get deployed on December.  Wave deployment usually has a fixed calendar (Route plan/what's included & documentation is released 2 months prior -February and august- with early availability of functionality one month prior to deployment.)

    c) There might be also particular updates on App:  Field Service, Customer Insights, Resource Availability for example, might release an additional version with improvements. IN this scenario, you also get a notification on admin.microsoft.com under "Health > Message center"

    Best regards
