Is there a way to consume components used for a MO when received that were not allocated?
Example: We created a MO to pull a casting item to create the machined item, say the order is for 100, this order is allocated and will pull the castings needed to produce the returned machined item.
We then are creating a MO that will take the machined item (from the MO stated above) and produce a custom trim. The issue is that the machined order has not delivered from our supplier yet, however, our supplier wants this order so they can deliver both MO requests at the same time.
When creating the MO for the custom trim the system is set to pull the machined item so we don't want to allocate since that item is not in our inventory yet.
Once our supplier delivers both orders, we receive in the machined order and then would receive in the custom trim order - since we did not allocate the MO for the trim will it pull out the machined item that was used to create the custom order?
Is there a way to do this so we can create and send both of these MO orders to our supplier without causing inventory issues?
Any advise on this would be greatly appreciated!
