The actual cost amount is showing differently for the same serial number in the Item ledger Entries

Hello Team,
 
The actual cost amount is showing differently for the same serial/ Lot  number in Item ledger Entries Flow Feilds for Entry Type Output and Sales entry types in Business Central.
 
Item Costing Methos is "Average" and Average Costing period is "Day" in Inventory setup.
 
Business cental Version 24 India Localization.
 
Please help us out why this diffrent showing in system.

    I think it does not use the serial/lot cost. It re-calculates a daily average cost and applies that value to all outbound entries. So the entries can show different Actual Cost Amounts for the same serial/lot. This is standard and expected behavior for Average costing.

    That is normal. The Cost Amount (Actual) on the sale is based on the item’s average cost; it is not a one-to-one relationship with the output cost. If you want the sales transaction to carry the exact same cost as the output, you would need to use the Specific costing method.

    Hello,
     
    With Average Cost (Day), it’s normal that Output and Sales show different Actual Cost Amounts, even for the same lot/serial.
     
    Because:
     
    Output uses the average cost at output time
     
    Sales uses the average cost at sale time
     
    Any purchase/revaluation between those two moments changes the average
     
    Adjust Cost later applies corrections differently to each entry
     
    So differences are expected and correct for Average Costing.
