D365 F&O - Modify customer name for a specific invoice

Hello,

In some situation, for a specific project or a specific invoice, the customer ask for a specific invoicing address.

So in most cases, we can add an additional invoice address on the customer page then choose the additional address in the project contract's funding source.

But still in some cases, we should totally change the address even the customer name! Do you know if for a specific project or project invoice, we can change the customer name?

Hi, If I understood your requirement correctly, you want to change customer name just for a specific project or project invoice and Actual Customer name should be intact. If yes, then I don't think its possible as Customer name comes from Global Address book and changing it will change the Customer name in all forms and objects where its used.

Hi Dynamicx365BA,

Like Mohit mentioned, you can't just change the name or address for a single invoice. You can consider creating another customer and set the invoice account to the original customer. Then you can choose to create sub project with another invoice contract or another funding source on the existing contract and link the new customer. By having the invoice account on the second customer, the open transaction will be registered on the original customer account.

Could you not add the Customer Name to the Address field, therefore having different addresses with both name and address?
