Analytical Accounting Budget tree

Posted on by 350

Hi,

Can somebody share their knowledge on whether it is possible to create the analytical accounting budget tree with the node named as the Transaction Dimension Code rather than Transaction Dimension Description.

It is defaulted to build the tree based on Transaction Dimension Code Description which is not the unique key in my budget spreasheets.

Feel free to ask question if you need more clarification.

Thanks in advance to look into it and replying

Regards

Rahul Gupta

I have tested uploading budget for dimension codes with same description and it was uploaded successfully. There is no other way to import Analytical Accounting budget in GP. You can try writing SQL scripts to insert budget data in SQL tables directly.

Thanks Rubal, I have transaction dimension codes. In fact that is my prefered way of uploading the budget data. But because GP builds the budget tree based on Transaction Dimension Code description its hard to upload as the description are not unique. Is there any other way to upload the budget with codes but not the description ? Rahul

GP displays only the AA Dimension Code Description with Budget tree. You can try to add the Dimension codes in your spreadsheet. Table aag00902 has the AA Transaction Dimensions Code IDs for the budget trees nodes. Table aag00401 has Transactions Dimension Code IDs and Transactions Dimension Codes ID.

The way data is stored in Table aag00902 is bit complicated. The parent Code ID stores code ID for the parent node, you can use it locate the nodes. Check out if you can use this table to add Transaction Dimension codes in your spreadsheet.
