Why/How has my companies production/sandbox moved?

Hi,

This problem started last week, it doesn't affect the use of business central, it affects the way my power bi reports link to it, but inherently it's a business central problem.

I authored a number of reports and last week (i'm not even sure this is the right terminology) the location(?) of the installation has moved. The image should help to explain the situation. This is the Microsoft connector that queries the data from business central in power bi. I've already gone through a support process with Power BI and they helped to uncover the problem, however they are clear with me that this is not a power bi issue.

Until last thursday/friday there were 4 sites under the PRODUCTION heading, they have since become a new group SANDBOX2, while I could make changes to the reports and relink them to this location, I'd be happier if i knew why they had moved and ideally that they could be moved back to enable the reporting - plus if i don't know what caused this, I'm not sure it won't happen again. At this stage there's probably a few days work in relinking the reports which I could really do with avoiding.

Current situation is that all the reports that feed any data from business central won't refresh as it throws up an error because it can't find the data. Most of which have now stopped trying to refresh because of consistent failure, leaving me with a live business data position stuck in last week.

If anyone has any insight into this and the casue/potential remedy I'd be very to hear your advice.

Thanks for reading.

Simon

I would suggest you to open a request to Microsoft support through your CSP Partner in order to investigate all the upgrade lifecycle.

You could also request your CSP partner to enable telemetries on your tenant (if this is 16.1 or higher) and use these to drill through upgrade based events.

I have the exact same issue and it would take a considerable amount of time to change existing reports to use the OData (Web Services) feed instead. Microsoft please fix it ASAP.

Coming back here to answer my own thread - after 10 days of non service for my power bi reports the problem has now been fixed by Microsoft. Apparently this was caused by a problem with a Business Central Product Update.
