How Can I Copy an Entity and the data within

Our CRM has evolved in the 6 six we've been using it. Part of that evolution (before my time) included an audit that recreated some orders. I would like to create a duplicate entity where I can store the unaudited orders, allowing me to remove them from the Orders entity but satisfying our CEOs desire to NOT completely delete data. My concern is regarding legacy knowledge and preventing the error of knowing/not knowing which orders to filter out when reporting or searching Orders.

Can I duplicate an entity easily? If so, how?

I would strongly recommend looking into building a data warehouse to store old data you want to report on, but don't want in your live system. It will be better for your overall system performance, while still giving your analytics team a place to mine older information.

Otherwise, you're going to need to make an entity that matches all the fields you want on an Order (and Order Lines, et.) and then write a custom plugin to clone the data over from one to the other.
