Landing page - form for subscription list (double opt-in)

Posted on by 5

Hi,

In Dynamics 365 Marketing I have a form, which has a possibility to register to subscription list. I have enabled on that form double opt-in and after contact registration, he/she has to confirm that registration by clicking on confirmation button in email.

It works correctly, after contat registeres for subscription list and conifrms it, it becomes visible as a member of subscription list.

However in contact form I see that consent is not given:

Is it really required by GPDR to confirm in seperated email the given consent?

Can the consent be automatically given, once contact registers (and confirms it) for subscription list?

    Hi Leah Ju ,

    Thanks for help.

    Regarding your replies:

    1. I just want to place subscription list form (registering for a newsletter) and I want to have minimzed form with just email and checkbox with consent to receive newsletter email. I have also enabled double opt-in option for subscription list.

But to have a consent set on contact I have to additionaly add checkbox for it and add additional email confirmation, even if I want to just send to that person newsletter emails?

    2. For sending newsletter I assume that I should use outbound marketing, do I?

    Hi Dimsu,

1)In contact form I see that consent is not given

You should check the Consent given field on the contact record:

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/marketing/gdpr-use-features#view-and-set-the-consent-level-for-each-contact

If you used the double opt-in on form, it just can change Consent given field.

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/marketing/form-double-opt-in

If you want to set 'Contact point preferences' section, you need manage consent for email and text messages in real-time marketing:

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/marketing/real-time-marketing-email-text-consent

2)Is it really required by GPDR to confirm in seperated email the given consent?

It depends on whether you are using outbound marketing or real-time marketing.
