Select drop down which uses ODATA to populate options onload of CRM form

Hello,

on the CRM2016 form i need to have a html drop down box which needs to have options with the shipping addresses of a contact which is dynamically updated for each contact.

I believe the code which worked in crm2011 which updated the option set no longer works as the user can not select a option from the option set in 2016.

I have a odata request function which retrieves the addresses fine from the contact record and now need this to somehow populate in the html drop down and when the user selects one of the address it should populate other fields on the crm form based on there selection.

Has anyone done this and if so how could do this be done with steps?
