Integration Site Enabler Enabled by Default

The only way I can restrict a user from inegration manager from within Dynamics is to create a new Security Task, choose GP IMport > Integration Site Enabler and NOT check it, then assign that to a user.  All our users by default have access.  Why?

If all users have access to it, I cannot find a single task/role that has this Integration Site Enabler checked so how are they getting access?  We have over 50 users but only a couple need access so I have to add Non-checked task/role to 48 users instead of just restricting the access from an enabled task/role?

Don't care about the Run Integration issue as I've found a workaround for that.  Why is Integration site enabler "enabled" by default to all users?  Dynamics does allow you to restrict access to Integration manager but it's enabled by default.  Not sure why creating a new task with it "unchecked" then applying that to a user then make the Integration Manager greyed out.

    Hi MEBENZ,

Even though you have the site enabler turned off, your users will still be able to 'Run Integration' if the IM is installed on their workstations (or they have access to the application). Since IM is a separate program, you can just launch it and run any integrations you choose. IM does not respect any of the security settings in GP. You can require a password on the integration via VB Script if you want. You can also deny users access to the folder where you have stored the IM database.

Be careful, you need to do more to secure those integrations.

    Kind regards,

    leslie
