Sales Transaction Entry - Description

I need to add some info when creating a sales transaction entry, but the description field or the comment ID cuts off what I need to enter.  How/where can I add info that will not get cut off.  It is about 20 words that need to be entered, but gets cut off when I try to enter into the description field or the comment ID field.
