MR performance issues

Hello Everyone,

We recently migrated our reports from FRX to Management reporter. Reports run just fine on MR but once in a while MR server's utilization grow to nearly all of the Physical RAM of the server. Please see below. We had to restart MR services to fix this. Is there any solution to prevent this from happening?

Thanks a lot Butch. We will try upgrading MR to CU14 and see if it resolves our issue.

There is a hotfix (Hotfix 3682838) for CU13 that deals with some report generating performance issues. Also, CU14 has been good to me in most cases.

If MR is not sharing the server with SQL, 16Gigs should be plenty of RAM, and it does need it sometimes - even when all is well.

Adding to Butch's reply - I have a client that was on CU8 and an old server w/ 4GB RAM. We had the same issues and we were always stopping/re-starting the MR services in the MR Configuration Console. We recently upgraded them to CU13 and to a new server w/ 16 GB RAM and have had no issues with performance or with server utilization.

Which CU level are you on?

Does the 10Gig represent all the memory in that box (or VM)?
