Configuration Package only insert records

Hello good afternoon,

I would like to know if there's a way to configure Rapid start (or Configuration Package) to only insert new records. Currently, if I import a worksheet with records already created and come new records, it created the new ones and modify the existing ones.

Thank you!

No specific control for that. It handles whatever is presented to it via the excel import. You may consider exporting a blank template and just adding what you need. This will stop the modification and reduce the processing time too. To export a blank template add a filter for something that you know doesn’t exist. I usually do my name on the primary key field - so for the item table I choose the “No.” and my filter is JOSH. Blank template is then exported and I add what I need (this is faster too). Alternative is to delete whatever you export and then populate your excel sheet

    Hello,

Yes, you can do that by exporting to Excel and then clean the sheet. The difficulty probably is that you may overwrite existing records if you use a same ID from the number range for an already existing record.

    Thanks.

Unfortunately, we don't have an option to specify to insert only, you can achieve this kind of scenarios with xmlport and custom development.

    Hi Valeria,
you have asked a very good question, that I also have.
That's why I have posted a related proposal in Microsoft Ideas: https://experience.dynamics.com/ideas/idea/?ideaid=22ad5f9c-7c10-f011-a4dd-6045bdbef22b

    Hello,

Yes i do agree with @Marco Mels, you can Export the Excel from Configuration Package and Clean the Sheet. Then Insert New Records which are not same as Existing Record and then import the same the New records can be inserted without Modification of Existing records.
