BCProoxy account while installing Reporting services extension in SQL server

Posted on by

Hi All,

We have installed AX in one machine and SQL server in another machine, we have replicate the environment with Production, AX is working fine,

Now we are installing/configuring SSRS reporting services, we have configured Reporting services configuration manager in SQL server and configured Report servers in AX machine,

We are installing Reporting services extension in SQL server using AX setup file , following wizard we came across one tab asking BCProxy account password which we don't know.

We have restored DB from Production , it seems BCProxy account also imported,

Kindly advise us how we can proceed in this to completed the Reporting services extension , do we need to create BCProxy account or do we need to request IT team to create

this account.

Regards,

Akbar

The service accounts, just like AX user accounts, are Active Directory users.

Your AD administrator must create an account for you. But if your dev environment existed already before this db copy, perhaps such account already exists. In that case you have to ask from someone in your organization about the account.

This documentation describes what kind of service accounts are needed for AX2012: docs.microsoft.com/.../create-service-accounts

    Hi Hassan,

We have restored DB from Production into the new DEV machine, BCProxy account might be coming from that only, and we don,t have its password, how we can create the new BCProxy account in our DEV environment, we are able to see the existing account in system service account,

Could you please advise how we can create the new BCProxy account to proceed in installing Reporting services extensions.

Open AX Client and go to

System Administration > Setup > System > System Service account

    Thanks Hassan,

Could you please provide navigation where exactly we can create BCProxy account , as there is no option in System administration > Setup > System > System Service account to create new account.

You can change this account from AX client "System administration > Setup > System > System Service account".

And you can provide your desired credentials here.

Then save it and restart the setup.
