Could not find a local RS instance corresponding to the reporting url

Posted on by 333

Working on an on premise CRM 2015 installation.   Successfully installed CRM server. Moved on to Reporting Extensions but continue to get the following errors:

Using the Wizard - SSRS instance is empty after I selected our SQL server

Using command line receive these errors in log:

Warning| Could not find a local RS instance corresponding to the reporting url http://ourserver/reportserver for organization ourserver

21:05:15|   Info| CrmAction execution time; CollectAction; 00:00:00.9529951

21:05:15|Warning| Could not resolve the Report Server instance: MSSQLSERVER

Error| Check ReportServerValidator : Failure: Unable to validate SQL Server Reporting Services Report Server installation. Please check that it is correctly installed on the local machine.

Looking online I've found a few ideas but didn't work

- 32 bit SSRS vs 64 bit.   we're 64bit

- named instance vs default = we're default

more ideas?
