Hide blocked customers

I have some customers that have previously posted transactions. Now, I've set the customer to blocked, for all transaction types. However when I go to the customer field in various parts of the system, I can still see the customer. Is there anyway to have the search no longer show blocked customers?
I have the same question (0)

Blocking the customer won't hide the customer but will just prevent you from posting transactions for that customer.

You would need to use filters to look at a list of not blocked customers:

This should work on most reports and the customer page but may not be available everywhere.

Some clients i've worked with also add leading "Z"s to the number or name so it's easier to filter and separate them from other active customers. You can use a filter similar to the Blocked filter:
    Without filter:

    With filter:

    Hopefully that helps!

    Hi,
Blocked does only what the name say, it stop transactions, it was never meant to hide the customer from the lookups. So this is standard, there is no setting to make the dropdowns not show blocked ones, they still appear everywhere because the field group lookup does not filter on Blocked.
On the customer list page you can help yourself, put a filter Blocked = '' and save it as a view, then that list only show active ones. But careful, that filter live on the list page, it does not carry into the small dropdown when you pick a customer on a sales order, that lookup ignore your view.
If you really need the dropdown itself to hide blocked customers, that part need a small customisation on the customer lookup page to filter Blocked, no standard switch for it. Many people just live with it and rely on the block stopping the posting anyway.

Glad to help - follow up if anything is unclear.

    Hello,
Yes, this is standard behavior. Blocking a customer in Business Central prevents the customer from being used for certain transactions/posting, but it does not hide the customer from lookups or search lists. Microsoft describes blocking as a control to stop adding the customer to sales documents or posting transactions, not as a visibility filter. If you want blocked customers to disappear from specific lookup pages, that would need a customization/page extension or a separate filtered list/page, but be careful because users may still need to see old customers for history, posted entries, reporting, and audit purposes.

    Hello,

I agree with Teagen Boll, you can create the Views on the Customer List page.

As suggested, Blocked cannot be applied as a filter in this scenario, so the blocked customers will still appear in the list. However, what you can do is apply a filter for Unblocked Customers and save it as a custom view. This way, you can easily switch to the view whenever you want to see only active customers.
