The starting point for an exchange between MS CRM and some application

Posted on by

Hi everyone!

I'd like to ask for advice. I'm an absolutely newbie to MS Dynamics CRM and I need to set up an one way exchange between our local application and our just installed CRM.

As first approach I need to create and modify only accounts and products. So can you advice me how to start?

I suppose it should be some script (like Powershell or javascript) which call some web services or through another api makes modifications in CRM. Or it may be c# or c++ compiled program? How I can programmatically modify data in CRM from outside?

Thank you in advance.

Thank you for all your replies. Of course I googled about CRM application developing and even started using MS Visual Studio (have never seen before). Also I downloaded CRM SDK and compiled the QuickStart project (SDK samples). And it's work!

But when I had realized that compiled application depends on some strange folder "HelperCode" I thought may be I'm on the wrong way may be there is some "script" way.

That's why I asked for advice.

What is the general way to exchange information between MS CRM and my application?
