How to populate "Gen Posting Type" field on Gen ledger entries.

I want to populate "Gen. Posting Type" field with values: Purchase or Sale  on Gen Ledger Entries, the system does not allow me to do so, can anyone help me with this?

    Is this what you are talking about:

    This field is populated when the user creates a Journal Entry:

    2019_2D00_12_2D00_26_5F00_1126.png

    The user must populate the filed at that time.......

    If they did not, then you will need to reach out to a developer and have the field populated via SQL script.
