Child Entity Activities on Parent Entity (Show Opportunity Activities on Account)

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

As per title, is this possible to do? I've found some past discussions that simply mention it does this by default for Account records, which I can see working in the Social section - but when using a subgrid to show activities instead of the social pane, the only option is for Activities (Regarding), which does not include any activities on child records on the account.

Changing the subgrid to All Activities with a custom view could be the way to go, but I'm not sure how to filter that view to the current account that the subgrid is on. Am I on the right track here, or is there another way I can do this?

Ideally ones this is working I would then implement this on Opportunities as well (to see activities on child Quote records as well as the Opportunity activities), so ideally the solution can't be something that would only work for Accounts.

    Hello,

Following code is helpfull to pull the contacts associated with the target account along with parent account, Your requirement also looks like same so refer following code and write your own code as per your requirement.

    Hi Nithya,

Unfortunately that type of view on the record then shows all activities in the entire system, not only ones related to the current account. I only want to show the activities that are currently shown in the social pane on the account, i.e. activities that are done on that account, and on any sub-record on the account such as opportunities, orders, invoices etc.
