Using Dexterity

Posted on by 725

I recently downloaded  Dexterity and the manuals and set about creating a little app theat integrates with Great Plains.  It is now complete and I am having trouble creating the chunk etc.  It requires a product id...and all the documentation tells me to contact Partner Source to get one.  I am not  reseller/partner just a customer who downloaded the tools and want to use them.

Can i create my chunk without a MS give product id?

I would suggest using a number between 30,000 and 32767 for a temporary product ID.

If the chunk is going to be deployed in more than one system you definately will need a product ID.

Have a look at the blog page below, it has lots of useful links to articles.

If you're just testing/playing I think you can make up an ID.  It just has to be unique in your environment....take a look at the ones you already have in your dynamics.set file - use something different.  If you add other products into your installation, you'll have to keep making sure your ID is still unique.
