Hi
I'm updating some CRM contacts in D365 online . In production this process ran at about 2400 update per minute. In the sandbox environment it ran at 16000 rows per minute. All workflows and plug ins are off in both.
I ran the tools/diagnostics/diag.aspx check on bath sandbox and production and there's little or no difference in timing there.
Any ideas on what I can do to improve the perormance in the Production instance ?

I would suggest you to to contact Microsoft support in this case. They can help you to identify the problem.
There are potentially many areas that may impact this for example.
In production there may be background integration processes like ETL or even many more users accessing the system.
Production may have many workflows being processed in the background,
Auditing may be Enabled.
Does the sandbox have the same amount of data?
How identical is Production to the Sandbox?
