Assembly BOMS

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi,

I Have created  an item eg:car and if i have two items(steer, wheel) as Assembly  BOMS each with individual price here if i place an order with car and assembly the BOMS and which price is applied for that order.

If i have inventory for car as 500 and assembly(steer, wheel)with inventory 100 each if i place order with car then the assembly(steer, wheel) quantity is deducted then whats the need of maintain inventory for car.

Example:

Car with inventory(500)-parent

steer,wheel with inventory(100)-child

i placed an order with car with quantity 2

Then my question is assembled child's items quantity is decreased whether parent item quantity is decreased or not?

which price is applied for product does parent item price or child's price?

Thank you,

Please don't post the same question in different threads, if your post is answered and if you have a different question then open a new thread for it. But posting same question in the multiple threads does not get you a quick answer.

You have already asked this same question in a different thread. Please refer community.dynamics.com/.../178938

In the item card under the replenishment tab you will be able to find a field called "Assembly Policy".

In that check what is the method you have used.

If you have used the method of "Assemble-to-Stock" then at the time of sales system will reduce the quantity from your current stock without assemble the item (reduce the quantity of your assembled items).

If you have set the "Assemble-to-Order" then system will assemble the item even the item is available in the inventory.

your english is a bit hard to understand. :-|

did you post the sales order (1. sales line, item car, quantity 2) ?

always, when you select an item in an sales/purchase/... order the inventory quantity of the used item and also the used child items is reduced. the price for the car in the sales line is the price defined on the item card of the car OR is selected from the item sales price list.
