How to move hours from one paycode to another after payrun?

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hello,

Does anyone know if it is possible to move hours from one paycode to another after posting a payrun? Payroll discovered an error in which an employee was paid HRLY (Hourly) rather than VHRLY (Vacation Hourly) both paycodes would have been the same Payrate.

Thank you for your assistance.

Thank  you Very much Mrs. Vail.

Since I need to move hours, I need to move the wages accordingly. Can I do an adjustment to move the wages out of the HRLY code to the VHLY and vice versa?

    I appreciate your help.

You can do an adjustment and use one transaction to enter negative hours for one pay code and a second transaction to enter positive hours for the other pay code. The net is zero. You would need to remove the batch ID and do a transaction post in order to post this zero transaction. Effectively, you will have moved amounts from one pay code to the other. If you need to do something with taxes and such, you would use the same technique.

    Kind regards,

    Leslie
