Here is what I should be building in a single screen ( I cannot think of any standard way to do this, can you ? ):
Entity 1
Field 1 : input for search criteria Field 2: input for search critera
Entity2
Field 3 : input for search criteria Field 4 : input for search criteria
Result grid for Entity 1
...
Result grid for Entity 2
...
What approach should I take?

you can build a report and show it in the form. This is the easier way. You can follow the below post to see how to show report inside form.
