Busines Process Flow bug/issue on case entity and security role enablment oddity

Posted on by 90

Hello,

I've got a trial instance up and running and have come across an issue when adding a new BPF to the case entity.  I created a very simple BPF on a new instance to prove the point and get the same results.  The issue is that I get is a "Server Is Busy " error when I create a new case and save/ save and close.  Interestingly this doesn't appear to be an issue on my custom entity

Here is the BPF if people want to take a look, as I mentioned very basic as I wanted to prove the error in another instance.

Another odd thing is the ability or lack of to enable security roles against the BPF, it looks like when you select the option it takes to the actual security role view within Dynamics so you are not able to select the required roles and apply them to the BPF.  All in all a little odd.  I've added 2016 and d365 screen shots

I forgot to add that the BPFs have their own tab within security roles.  Not as clean as previous release.

Hi Scott, thanks for the reply.  Yes you are right (of course) about the entity security role privileges.  I took another look at that the day after posting. I should of spotted that at the start.

With the "Server is busy" it always happens when I have a custom BPF active, I deactivate the BPF and the issue is no more.  I guess I shall explore the ticket option as this doesn't seem right,

For your second question - the Business Process Flow security is now controlled via the Security Role privileges because there is an entity per Business Process Flow. If you open up a security role - you'll see the Business Process Flows in the Custom Entities tab.

For the 'Server is busy' message - does it always happen - or is it occational? You may need to raise a support ticket with Microsoft.

    Hope this helps
