We are migrating vairious version of Dynamics GP2010 onto a single instance.  Can GP2013 support one instance for Dynamics GP with mutiple account framework structures?

Well...depends on what you call an instance.  The account framework is stored in the Dynamics db and you can only have one Account Framework in a Dynamics database.  You  can use multiple Dynamics db's in 2013 with multiple Account Formats which I think is considered separate instances but against one instance of SQL  You would login to each Dynamics db separately and cannot do intercompany transactions between firms in different instances.

With the SSIS method, you must SSIS the GL001XX tables rather than use Integration Manager because you must bring over the IDENTICAL account indexes. If the new GL account numbers get new GL index numbers, nothing in your subsidiary tables will correspond to the accounts.

We've done this type of migration several different ways. With GP 2013, you can create multiple instances. You can also use a tool written by Corporate Renaissance Group crgroup dot com that will allow you to change the account framework

Or if your EXTREMELY ADEPT with SQL/SSIS, you can export the main account tables -- the GL001XX -- re-import them into a new company database attached to the SQL instance with the largest account framework (compare all segment sizes). Then SSIS the remainder of the tables. It can be an intimidating process but it can work. Prototype! Backup! Backup! Backup!

With the account framework, if one DYNAMICS database has a framework of 5-5-7   and the other has 5-7-7 (for example), you will have to import both companies into a new instance with 7-7-7

You can create multiple Dynamics databases, each with different account frameworks on one instance of GP.  They are truly separate systems but you can switch between them easier.
