How to hit CRM on click of the hyperlink in E-Mail

Posted on by 362

Hello All,

Is it possible to hit the CRM on click of the hyperlink in the E-Mail? I have to perform some action in CRM on click of hyperlink / button in the E-Mail by customer in his personal mail box.

Thanks,

Phani.

    Hi,

OOB you cant, but you create your own web service and run the logic there.

    Concept

While generating the yes / no , set your own hyperlink and attach to yes/no .So, after user is clicked on the yes/ no , it will call your web service.

    - remember to handle the security.

    Hi Phani,

There is no standard configuration/ customization to achieve this and I think its not even possible with any unsupported method as well. This is because in order to access or execute any action within CRM, the user needs to be authenticated. Even if you add a button, you won't be able to authenticate as it would be in an email which is sent to a contact (not CRM user).

As you are working with Contacts and creating contacts in draft, have you consider Dynamics 365 Portals (Customer Self Service)? This has the inbuilt registration process and it is quite flexible to run custom logic.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi,

    Here is the business requirement.

--> We create a contact in Draft status, on create of contact one workflow will trigger and it sends the mail to that contact saying that we have added you in our system as a contact.

--> He / She has to respond for that mail with Yes or No (not reply, it should be button click)

--> Based on the response (Yes / No), we will take some actions in CRM using pluign.

So I need to catch the response from that contact on the button click. Hope you understood my requirement.

    Thanks,

    Phani.
