How to run specific email template/workflow for email distributor batch?

We are using Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations. We'd like approvers for specific workflows to receive email notification when approver receives a request.

From Email distributor batch, I don't find any filter.

While we can use users option /send notification email/ to control which users can receive email and which would not, this is not what we want as we want to control email notification by workflow instead of users.

In a workflow that we don't want to send approver request notification, I tried to leave /Email template for workflow notification/ blank. However, it will still be waiting in /Batch email sending status/ and sent email using the Workflow email.

How do I only send email notification for a specific workflow? Please advise, thank you!
