Dynamics 365 App for Outlook - Security Role

1. Are there limitations to which security roles can be assigned directly to user?
 
2. And is it necessary to have any security roles on the user at all? 
 
I am struggling with my customer getting "You do not have permission to access these records. Contact your Microsoft Dynamics 365 administrator for help", and i have also consulted the privilege-error article on Learn - https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/troubleshoot/dynamics-365/sales/privilege-error-occurs-when-using-dynamics-365-app-for-outlook .
 
This error is featured on the bottom of this article and i have checked these privileges and they are correct.

    The problem i experience is when the user has just selected an email in outlook and the D365 App in outlook loads. The contact appears but its the first section below the contact which i suspect is one of the card-forms.
     
    These cards are within either accounts or contacts and the user has full access to both of these entities.

    The security role the user is assigned is a copied role, but its copied from the standard Salesperson role.

    Hi,
     
    In my testing, I created an Opportunity record in the Dynamics 365 for Outlook add-in as a certain user.
    I created a custom security role and assigned it to this user.
    Afterwards, I disabled read access to the Opportunity for this user.
     
    Then, I encountered the same problem as you.
    The error details indicate in which Dynamics environment read permissions are missing.
    It is recommended that you check if read permission for the corresponding entity is not enabled for the user in the correct environment.
