Quote Error "Unable to update the quote, currency comparison could not be made."

After updating our On Premise Dynamics CRM Instance to 9.0.10 we can no longer save quotes. Instead we receive the following error:

"Microsoft.Crm.CrmException: An unexpected error occurred. ---> System.Exception: Unable to update the quote, currency comparison could not be made."

We don't have any third party plugins running on the quote entity and we've tested this on a CRM environment with non of our modifications, so the error must be related to the new update.

We tried to update to 9.0.11 to see if that would fix it, but it still hasn't fixed the error.

Our final step now is to try and remove 9.0.10 and 9.0.11 by uninstalling them, though we are now concerned with upgrading to further versions if this will likely cause us continuous problems.

Any advice would be appreciated.

    Hi AmirTQ,

    Not that I'm aware of, other than always pushing to the latest version of Dynamics. It is meant to overwrite the old version with the new one.

    Other than that, try here for Support: mbs.microsoft.com/.../CRMSupport

    Any other way to have the DLL without openning a ticket? as we are using Trial version and dont have any contract

    Hi Ivo,

    Microsoft seem to be aware of the bug, I would suggest to put in a ticket (just in case it's different), they were surprising quick to reply when they are already aware of this bug.

    We have the same problem for our - hopefuly last on-premise customer - even after update to 9.0.12.4 which was released 1/14/2020.

    What is in your experience the fastest/easiest way to get to the fix of the most recent DLL?

    Sorry I forgot to reply to this sooner, we opened a ticket with Microsoft and within less than an hour they provided us an updated DLL for us to replace over the existing one (for the DLL causing the problem).

    Apparently the issue is with the upgrade, and it fails to overwrite.

    We have the same problem on 9.0.11. Did you find a solution?

    As temporary workaround I've deactivated the step Microsoft.Dynamics.Sales.Plugins.PreOperationQuoteUpdate by the following SQL command:

    UPDATE SdkMessageProcessingStep
    SET 
    	statecode = 1,
    	statuscode = 2
    WHERE s.EventHandlerName = 'Microsoft.Dynamics.Sales.Plugins.PreOperationQuoteUpdate'

    we are facing the same issue also on 9.0.10 version , its also occures on assign quote.

    have you managed to find a solution for this?

    Hello Nathan,

    It looks for me as a bug. Open the ticket with Microsoft so they will be able to create a fix for the bug.
