HSIP 2.0 Integration Validation Error with D365 LCS Data Management

Dear Guys,

Previously, our on-premises AX AOS server was successfully integrated with HSIP version 2.0 for data synchronization with the D365 LCS platform.

However, when I log in to D365 LCS and navigate to Data Management > HS Integration Parameters > HSIP_Prod, I encounter an error upon clicking the “Validate” button.

Error details are as follows:

Error: One or more errors occurred.
Inner Error: Method not found: 'Void Microsoft.IdentityModel.Clients.ActiveDirectory.UserCredential..ctor(System.String, System.String)'.
Stack Trace:
at System.Threading.Tasks.Task.ThrowIfExceptional(Boolean includeTaskCanceledExceptions)
at System.Threading.Tasks.Task.Wait(Int32 millisecondsTimeout, CancellationToken cancellationToken)
at System.Threading.Tasks.Task.Wait()
at HS_DMF_Ext_Library.Common.Validate(String[] authInfo)

Due to this issue, jobs cannot be enabled, and data synchronization between the on-prem AOS (HSIP 2.0) and D365 LCS service is not functioning.

Thank you for time and kind support.

    Hi WT-08050827-0,

    1) Issue
    - Validation of HSIP 2.0 integration in D365 Lifecycle Services fails when clicking the Validate button
    - The system throws an error indicating a missing method in Microsoft.IdentityModel.Clients.ActiveDirectory
    - As a result, jobs cannot be enabled and data synchronization between the on-premises AX AOS and D365 LCS is not working
    - The integration was previously functioning but now fails during validation

    2) Reason
    - The error indicates a mismatch or incompatibility in the Microsoft IdentityModel or ADAL library version used by HSIP 2.0
    - The method UserCredential constructor referenced in the error has been deprecated or removed in newer versions of the ADAL library
    - This typically occurs when underlying .NET assemblies or authentication libraries were updated on the AOS server or in the environment
    - HSIP 2.0 relies on older authentication components, which are no longer fully compatible with updated security libraries or LCS authentication requirements
    - The issue may also be caused by changes in authentication protocols, such as migration away from legacy ADAL toward MSAL

    3) Resolution
    - Verify the version of Microsoft.IdentityModel.Clients.ActiveDirectory and related authentication libraries installed on the AOS server
    - Ensure that the HSIP 2.0 components are using supported and compatible versions of these libraries
    - If recent updates were applied, roll back or align the libraries to the versions required by HSIP 2.0
    - Check whether there is a newer version, hotfix, or updated HSIP integration package that supports current authentication standards
    - Review D365 LCS integration documentation for updated authentication requirements and supported configurations
    - Consider updating or migrating the integration approach if HSIP 2.0 relies on deprecated ADAL-based authentication
    - Reconfigure authentication using modern Azure AD authentication methods if supported
    - If no compatible fix is available, raise a Microsoft support ticket, as this may require an official patch or updated integration guidance

For a more detailed answer, please provide more information.

    Rg,

    Alexander

*Due to the complex and different possibilities of deploying Dynamics 365 I highly recommend not to setup the application without some expert/partner or support. (For more information contact me under anassl@inno-solutions.info or visit www.inno-solutions.de)
