MSCRM 2013 Online issues with identifying Web Resource by ID

Hi,

Looking for some assistance, I have 2 solutions that have been installed a while back by another party and after migrating to MSCRM 2013 online, I am trying to uninstall one of the solutions to install a more up to date solution.

When trying to uninstall the old solution I am prompted with,

This solution cannot be uninstalled because the WebResource with id b44dd4b1-705c-e011-9151-1cc1de6d1bd7 is required by the solution. Uninstall the solution and try again.

I am trying to find a way to locate this Web Resource by the ID so i can remove the dependency, so I do not have to remove the other solution that is working fine and has other dependencies linked to it.

Any help/information will be great.

Thanks

If you have an onpremise environment with the solution installed you can run this query against the database to find it.

    select displayname from webresource

    where webresourceid = 'b44dd4b1-705c-e011-9151-1cc1de6d1bd7'

Otherwise you could use the SDK to retrieve the webresource with that ID.

Can you install the updated solution ontop of the old one?

Thanks for the suggestion, we are using Ondemand environment so we will be unable to run this query against the database.

Unfortunately we cannot install the updated solution ontop of the old one as it has been repackaged and requires the older solution uninstalled.

    Hi Zigon,

A simple way of identifying the exact Web resource would be to use the "Copy a link" option on another web resource(right click on a web resource), paste it a word editor and replace the section that provides the identity of the resource with the id you have from the exception. Please find below how such a link looks like.

    http://SERVERNAME/main.aspx?appSolutionId=%7bSolutionID%7d&etc=9333&id=%7bWebresourceID%7d&pagetype=webresourceedit>

After you have modified the URL you just need to paste it in a new window and that should lead you to the web resource in question.
