History Transaction Entry Zoom

Posted on by

Hello,

My client is on GP10 with service pack 3. When they do an enquiry on a GL Account, they then drilldown on the JOURNAL ENTRY and then they highlight an account and then click on SOURCE DOCUMENT.

When the attemot this, they get the following message:

'Unhandled script exception:
Illegal address for field 'Journal Entry' in script 'CB_Drill_Down_GL'. Script terminated.'

Has anyone seen this before?

Regards,

Jay

One thing you could try logon as the domain user then right click on the icon and runas the local admin. if that works, then there is a way to setup the ico so that it always runs as local admin without having to enter a password.

Hi Jay I think it's down to the security on 1 of the dictionaries. Which one i do not know, sorry but now it works ok for us on GP2010, we did not do any other investigation. Paul

    Hello Paul,

I tried what you suggested. I logged onto 1 machine as the local administrator and then when I drilled down there were no errors.

Any idea what I could check or compare between the local administrator login and the domain login?

    Regards,

    Jay

Hi Jay I tested it out on GP2010 and it works there. Did not stop at SP4 to see if that fixed anything. Paul

    Hello Paul,

I will look into that and see if that works. Lets say that it does work, what do you think the proper solution should be?

Also, I saw a blog some time back that this seems to be an issue with v10 and SP3. Any idea if SP4 will help sort his out?

    Regards,

    Jay

Hi Jay We have had this problem before. It is something to do with domain security on the workstation. If you logon to the workstation with a local (not domain) account that has admin privs on the workstation, then the drilldown will work. not a solution I admit, but it's a place to start looking. Hello Leslie,

No, it happens with any transaction that has affected the the sub-ledgers and the GL. It does happen on all workstations (EVEN IF LOGGED IN AS 'sa'). No, it only happens for HISTORICAL Enquiries.

    Jay

    Hi Jay,

    1. Does this only happen with bank transactions?

    2. Does it happen at every workstation?

    3. Does it happen for both open and history years?

    Kind regards,

    Leslie
