ADMIN Table Security Tasks (e.g., ADMIN_FIN_009*)

We are creating custom roles for our GP installation. We noticed a number of ADMIN tasks (e.g., ADMIN_FIN_009*) with the description "Access to the tables is only necessary to report data from within Report Writer." Most of our roles do not currently include these ADMIN tasks but appear to generate reports ok. Must these ADMIN tasks be added for Report Writer? What do they do? Thanks.

Those roles are needed by the user that is creating/modifying report layouts using the Report Writer. They are not required for users to generate reports.

We have a good book on the new security system available from our web site that could be helpful to you. Check it out.

After further inspection it appears that these ADMIN tasks are not required to generate Report Writer reports but are most likely needed for modifying Report Writer reports.
