Notes shared by entities in a business process flow - is it possible?

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hey there,

I have a business process flow that I'm designing that jumps multiple entities. It would be really nice to have the notes persist through the process flow so I can reference them from any step in the flow.

Is there a good way to do this that I'm missing?

Thanks,

mstr

So, for your note entity, you have a note entity that has one note per record and display those on the subgrid?

    Hi,

or you might copy those notes rather than re-link them (not just copy.. just replicate "delete"/"create"/"update" on the notes across all the entities in your business process flow). Sounds like an overkill.. but you'll actually be able to access them on any individual entity then.

Or, maybe, create a custom "note" entity with multiple lookups(to each of the entities involved in the process flow), and show that entity in the subgrid on each of the business process flow entities.

    Hi mstr,

you need to write a plugin that change objectid and objectcode over attachment wher "jump" occurs (like, when statuscode change).

If you cannot update object code of attachment record (never tried it!) you need do delete and recreate it over new entity.

If you need some "backed" code dont esitate to ask.

Please let me know if you solve.
