Workflow for mails is sending Mail while completing a Task

Hi all,

I have created a workflow for sending mails through CRM on the due date of a task. The workflow has a condition i.e checking for Task Status as Open and then send  mails to Task Owners . It is working fine but it is also sending mails whenever i m completing a Task.

I also added the condition of checking the status as Complete/closed then the workflow should stop working but it is still sending mails while completing the task.

The workflow has one more condition to update a field value for sending recursively mails until the task is complete /closed. Has anyone faced any similar issue?

    can you plz provide me the screenshot of the scenario you are talking about.. I am not able to get it clearly..it would be really helpful.

    Are you just adding the condition? You can do it in two ways:

    - Add a condition to check if the status is NOT open. Then stop the workflow inside that condition. Keep everything else as is

    - OR add a condition to check if the status IS open. Then you'll have to re-create your existing "send" email steps under that condition

    If i am checking the status ,I am not able to update the fields value after that.it is showing error while activating the Workflow.

    Both.. Anywhere you are sending that email, verify the status first since the status can change while the workflow is waiting

    you are talking about the main workflow or the child workflow condition?

    Hi Varsha,

     add another condition after the "wait" but before you send an email (same as you have already.. just check for the status)

     The problem with your current condition is that it's verified before "wait" - you actually need to do if after(since task status can change while the workflow is waiting)

    Hi,

     could you

    1) Post a screenshot of your workflow

    2) Confirm that this behavior is happening on a completely new task, too? If you had some tasks for which the workflow was, already, running, and if you updated workflow definition.. those older instances of the workflow would still be using old definition
