scanning in GP 2018 with Brother DCP printer / scanner

Hi Folks

Client with GP2018 uses a Brother DCP printer / scanner (sorry don't know specific model), in windows the scanner will use the feeder and scans to a PDF.  In GP the scanner will only scan from the glass, I.e. the feeder is ignored, and the scanner makes JPEG's.

Are these settings that can be controlled in GP or Windows?

RE: scanning in GP 2018 with Brother DCP printer / scanner

Most likely you're still running into the known issue we have with scanning functionality in Dynamics GP 2016 R2 which we hoped to have fixed in GP 2018 but didn't get it by the release date.

The plan is to re-design the code to use TWAIN driver instead of WIA which is more robust with modern day scanners.

We have the most issues with Brother, Fujitsu, Kodak, Epson, and Canon scanners even though they are all WIA compliant. We’ve had the most luck with HP scanners.

When we see the scan button work, it works for simple scanning, but doesn't really work for the feeder-scanning, which is pretty much what you mentioned you're seeing.

Currently the only work-around we have is to scan to the desktop and then add those through Document Attachment, as needed.

We haven't heard any updates to when or what release of Dynamics GP this switch to TWAIN driver will be, but hopefully soon as we have a lot of customers waiting for this fix.

    Thanks
