Customization Analysis Report - FailedToCreateMetadataProvider Error

Hi,

I am executing command xppbp to generate CAR report using following documentation.

Knowledge Base: docs.microsoft.com/.../customization-analysis-report

My command is something link below:

xppbp.exe -metadata="K:\AosService\PackagesLocalDirectory" -all -model="MyModel" -xmlLog=C:\Report\CAR\BPCheckLogcd.xml -module="MyModule" -car=C:\Report\CAR\CAReport.xlsx -packagesRoot="K:\AosService\PackagesLocalDirectory\RefModel"

I am getting following error:

MetadataProvider Fatal Error: Unable to create metadata provider. Value cannot be null.
Parameter name: configuration

FailedToCreateMetadataProvider: 1

Warnings: 0
Errors: 1

Any idea, how to fix the above issue.

    Hi Saboor,

    I ran the following command line in my env and it worked just fine:

    K:\>cd "K:\AosService\PackagesLocalDirectory\bin"

    xppbp -metadata="K:\AosService\PackagesLocalDirectory" -all -model="MyModelName" -xmlLog="C:\Users\User402272bb287\Desktop\BPCheckLogcd.xml" -module="MyPackageName" -car="C:\Users\User402272bb287\Desktop\CAReport.xlsx"

    Can you tell us the app and PU version of your environment?

    Yes, correct. I tried the above command and it worked. But it will not work when you run the command with  "-packagesRoot" attribute. This attribute says that reference model source code is not available but libraries are available for reference model in "ReferenceModel\bin" directory.

    Version Information

    Installed product version : Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations (10.0.4)

    Installed platform version : Update28 (7.0.5314.35442)
