During installation of GP workflow for sharepoint 2010 error occured

During installation of GP workflow for sharepoint 2010 I got below error at last step (Installing SharePoint help).

Failed to find node:
//configuration/configSection/section[@name='cachingConfiguration'] in XML file:C:\inetpub\wwwroot\wss\VirtualDirectories\12526\web.config,
System error-2147020584

Note-Where sharepoint web application for workflow is on port:12526.

on port -80 i have installed BusinessPortal that is working fine.

can anyone please let me know how to resolve this issue?

    hi,

    thats an error that tells you that a configuration file is not formed well (corrupted data in xml/config file), here the file .../web.config.

    check if there is an older version of the config file and replace the current.

    to do that: stop all wss services, replace the file, restart services.

    if it's not working complete reinstall is the only solution.

    Thanks for your suggestion. Do you mean i should completely uninstall web services for Dynamics GP and Sharepoint server and then re-install? Actually my BusinessPortal is also deployed on same server.

    hi,

    first check your sharepoint config.

    Did you define a default site? is it a special config?

    does the folder C:\inetpub\wwwroot\wss\VirtualDirectories\12526\ exist? is there a web.config?

    maybe you choose the wrong sharepoint site when installing the workflow.

    in general: check sharepoint with the admin tools. are ther any errors? are there according entries in the event log?

    Thanks for your quick responce.

    1.No i didn't define default site.

    2.Yess web.config do exist.

    I am going for fresh re-installation. Hope it will work.
