How to monitor Service Protection throttling / 429 on a Unified Development Environment?

Hi everyone,

I’m working on a Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations Unified Development Environment, and I’m facing a strange issue related to Service Protection API limits / HTTP 429 throttling.

After installing a deployable package and restarting the environment, the system seems to work correctly for a few minutes. Then, after a short time, some integrations/API calls start failing again with HTTP 429 – Too Many Requests, and the environment appears to be throttled again.

From there, I could identify which application/user/API request was triggering the throttling protection. My main questions is Where can I monitor Service Protection throttling events for a Unified Development Environment?

Hi Diego,

Parts of the LCS monitoring are now moved to Application Insights. Other logs should be moved in the future as well. For the batch framework, the throttling is already implemented. I haven't seen the option for API limits myself yet.

As you are attending DynamicsMinds next week, I can introduce you to the Microsoft person responsible for the move from LCS to PPAC. He can answer your question.

Hi all, thanks Andrè, and sure it's a pleasure for me!

The problems is the new ERP MCP.

I don't understand why, but from the first day i have created some Agents on this env i have strange situation where 429 sometimes occurs.

At the begin i don't put a lot of attention but now the issue is persistent.

Yesterday i have revoke the MCP's allow to interact to FO and now the system is stable, no more 429.

I'll try to understand why my agents put the system in this protection state. I don't have any autonomous agent, and nothing can raise these quantity of request to raise a throttling escalation.

Hi,

As mentioned you should install the application insights that helps you in monitoring this . IN r recent project we tried teh same and it worked.

You might need to write some additional query in app insight but it should work.

Hi, for update i have receive a response on the ticket i have raised. Seems an infrastucture problem.

Based on your response, we receive multiple queries regarding an outage on MCP system error occurring across copilot agents which has been escalated to the product team. Kindly confirm if the issue is now resolved from your end. If not, kindly share with us the blow
