New modified report not showing in list of reports for granting access Dynamics GP 10

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hello everyone,

I recently created a new modified report in Dynamics GP 10 (my first try), based on a already-modified check form (Check With Stub on Top and Bottom - Graphical).  The new report, named "Check With Stub on Top and Bottom - Graphical - New) shows in Report Writer and appears correct.  However, when I go to Administration > Setup > Alternate/Modified Forms and Reports, the new report does not show in the list when attempting to grant access to other users - only the original form and the previously-modified form.  This is true for all users in the company.  What can I do to grant access to this report?

Thanks in advance,

Michael

    Hi Jeffrey,

Thanks for the info.  I went that route and it worked fine.  Took a couple of tries to get the signature in just the right spot (the new one was slightly taller).

    Hi Michael

Sounds to me like you found the form Cheque With Stub on Top and Bottom - Graphical and most likely clicked on Duplicate or copy.

What you really want to do is click on Insert and use that copy of the cheque form to modify.

Using the insert function makes a copy of the Report which can be substituted for the out of the box report using the Alternate modified forms/reports security window which you did go to.

Using the Duplicate or Copy function make copies of the report which can only be run from Reports > Customized Reports.

Remember to work in a test environment or a test dictionary first while modifying a report. When finished you can roll the finished report into production using the Customization Maintenance window.

Using the Insert function does not alter the original out of the box report.  If you need you can always delete the modified report and then select the out of the  box report and start over again by clicking on Insert.
