SLA Timer to show elapsed time

Hi,

At current when the SLA KPI Instance timer runs out it sets the field to a status called Expired. Instead i want the timer to continue ticking so we can see how much it went over.

It is mentioned in the below link but doesn't tell you how to do it ;
