inventory valuation wip report get different results in classic vs. rtc nav 2009 sp1

Posted on by 834
In NAV 2009 SP1, CRONUS USA, Inc., demo installation, I set Inventory Setup to Automatic Cost Posting = True, Expected Cost Posting = True, Automatic Cost Posting = Always.  I then ran the Adjust Cost Item Entries Job and then ran the Post Inventory Cost to G/L.
I then found production order 101004, which is finished (this was in a finished state after installing the demo database).  I then entered a revaluation entry for the Output entry related to this production order.
When I run the Inventory Valuation Report in classic and rtc, I get different results.  I then applied article 2689150 and 2711751 but still realize same results (where the classic and rtc reports differ).

I am updating this post and apologize for the delay up front.  Issues with the Inventory Valuation - WIP Report (Report 5802) continued to be identified into 2013 through additional case submissions and through additional internal regression testing.  A rolled-up correction was released with the required changes to address issues with Report 5802.  You can find the code change documentation in Knowledge Base Article 2786792:

    Thank you.

The Hotfix for the Inventory Valuation WIP Report appears to be in the final testing of the rolled-up fix.  We just received an internal notification that the Report is going through final regression testing.

    Thank you.

    Hi John,

The Development team is working to resolve a couple of final issues before publishing a rolled up update.  Do you have a Partner contact that I can work with to create a grace case for them so they can provide the current fixes to you?  Please advise.

    Thanks

    Tom

    Hello John,

I am currently continuing my follow-up of the issue, but I don't have a firm update at this point. Based on an initial inquiry, the plan is to publish a rolled up change document for Report 5802, which would be published on Customer Source and Partner Source. I will be updating this post as further information is provided from development.

    Best Regards

    Tom

    Tom,

I'm a Customer and not a Partner . . . I don't have access to Partner Source.  How can we move forward?

    Hello John,

Thank you for your patience while I completed further research.

I have determined that there are several corrections that have not been published but released internally. Because Report issues are typically considered Service Pack fixes and released with a new Version, the corrections have not all been released. The support policy is that code changes, unless released as a Hotfix through a KB Article, cannot be posted on a Forum.

If you would, please complete a support request for the issue from Partner Source. From there, I can provide the corrections as a private change document for you. The case will be a non-chargeable case to provide fixes to known issues.

Please let me know if you have question.

    Best Regards,

    Tom

Note for others reading this post: If you are a customer and reading this Forum post, please contact your partner and have them submit a support request to get all of the necessary fixes available for Report 5802 - Inventory Valuation WIP.

    Hello John,

Thank you for posting on the NAV Forum.

There are current issues outstanding with the Inventory Valuation WIP Report (R-5802) that are known and reported. However, I don't know the complete status of the corrections and whether the fixes are posted. I will look into this and get back to the post as quickly as possible with the update.

    Thanks

    Tom B.
